1. Duelling and the force are already too correlated. Every Force user used their force to be faster and stronger. For the first 3 seconds of the fight, Sidious defeated Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tin not by skill but by the force. He was just simply to fast for them to react to Sidious's attack, unlike Mace. This has barely anything to do with skills but pure force power
2. Sidious already tried to use Force Lightning after Mace overpowered him, we can see both Mace and Sidious visually struggling, but who was winning the clash? Mace was fast enough to react to Sidious at near point-blank, and then proceeded to push his sabre closer to Sidious, redirecting it and scarring Sidious
