C214 Done in less than a week.

Trying to pay back the community that has helped me get this far in the MBA program. I just passed C214, so while everything is still fresh in my head, here’s what worked for me.

My biggest recommendation is to watch Professor V’s bootcamp video.

Professor V says himself that the book is really dense and can be a lot to get through. I didn’t read any of it. I watched the bootcamp, focused on understanding what he was teaching, and made sure I mastered the Excel portion. He says in the video that a lot of people watch the bootcamp and go straight to the test, and I can see why.

I watched the bootcamp three times. I also took the PA twice and really focused on mastering the Excel and math portions. My mindset was that those were free points if I knew exactly what I was doing, and ultimately, I think that carried me to victory.
I would also recommend really knowing the PA. For me, some questions on the OA were the same or very similar. There were also some concepts on the OA that I had never heard of before. When that happened, I slowed down, carefully read the question, and looked to see if any keywords from the question matched or connected with the answer choices. Sure enough, a lot of the time they did.

Don’t panic when you see something unfamiliar. Slow down and read exactly what the question is asking. Sometimes the question gives you more help than you realize.

There were also a few questions about DuPont analysis, which I completely spaced on, so I would definitely familiarize yourself with that before taking the OA.

That’s really all I got. Watch the bootcamp a few times. Master the Excel portion, know the PA, and focus on the math and calculation questions because those are points you can control.
Good luck to everyone still working through C214.

8 weeks to go and all I have left is C215, C211, and the Capstone.
