New to modern, where to start?

I've been playing MTG since 2016 after switching over from Yugioh (great decision btw). I've mainly been playing standard and limited fromats for the past couple years and haven't really touched paper magic since covid.

Now I wanted to spice things up a little again since I'm currently very burnt out on standard and limited is 50% UB sets I'm just not interested in.

I've been looking into modern for a couple days now and want to try it out on MTGO. If I like it I want to make it my entry point into paper magic again since there are many modern events in my area and I really want to play with actual cards again.

My main questions would be:

-What are some good meta decks to check out as someone with very little knowledge about the format? I generally enjoy playing midrange, ramp or control the most.

-Are the "budget decks" on goldfish any good?

-What are some paper products modern players usually buy? Is buying modern horizons/masters sets on release worth it? (Of course buying packs in TCGs is never worth it, but you get what I mean. Can you actually get some worthwhile stuff from these products?)

-Do you like boros energy players?

-What's the best pizza topping?

Thanks in advance, everyone.

How does Yugioh play these days?

I was a huge Yugioh fan growing up in the 2000s and played it competitively from 2011-2015.

In early 2016 I switched over to MTG with a heavy heart. I really loved YGO but I became more and more annoyed by Konami over the years. The introduction of the pendulum mechanic was the final straw for me and I just had to leave the game.

That being said, I started playing some 2015 meta games with my friends (who also quit around that time for the same reasons) the other day and I wondered how the meta game looks today.

From what I've been told so far it looks like the competitive metagame has been in a really tough spot for a couple of years now. Link is apparently even worse than pendulum was when it came out, the prices have skyrocketed to absurd levels, everyone runs like 20 negates and the entire game revolves around who gets to set up the better unbreakable turn 1 board.

I don't know whether that's true or not so I thought this might be a good place to ask.

Is it really that bad?

Also I'm curious how bad the infamous YGO power creep really is. I remember in 2015 Nekroz was the deck to beat and power level wise it was absurd for the time. You coul've just taken your entire deck into your hand instead of drawing 5 at the beginning and it would have essentially made no difference.

I wonder if it got much worse than that. In 2012 I thought Inzektor was as powerful as it gets, in 2013 Dragon Rulers proved me wrong since they were much worse. And when Nekroz were at full power in 2015 I just thought "where is this supposed to lead?".

Are the top tier decks today as bad as Nekroz was in 2015? And also would a full power Nekroz deck with everything unlimited even be viable today?

Thanks

So I'm trying to get into turkish football but I don't really know what club would suit me best. I'm from Nuremberg, Germany and we have large turkish communities here because of the "Gastarbeiter Program" in the 1960/70s. We get along very well so I thought it would be nice for me to get into süperlig football.

  1. FC Nürnberg doesn't have any fan friendships with turkish teams, otherwise this would've been a no brainer.

From what I've researched most turks here come from central anatolia or the black sea region. I thought about Trabzonspor for a while but apparently they're a highly nationalist club so I feel like me supporting them without being turkish myself would'nt really make sense.

Could you give me some insight?

Teşekkür ederim.
