Dolomites Itinerary Check + Proposal Spot Advice (Tre Cime / Seceda?)

Hello everyone,

My girlfriend, a couple of friends, and I are going on a trip to the Dolomites from 4th–7th June. We’re based in Munich and renting a car for the trip. I’ve put together the following itinerary and would love some feedback on whether it looks realistic or if you’d recommend any changes.

Day 1

Leave Munich in the morning, visit Lago di Braies and Lago di Dobbiaco, have dinner in San Candido, and then head to our Airbnb in Candide for the night. I intentionally kept Day 1 lighter since we’ll be hiking quite a lot over the next few days.

Day 2

Early morning start for Tre Cime di Lavaredo and do the full circular hike. Afterwards, relax at Lago di Misurina, then head to Cortina d’Ampezzo for dinner before returning to Candide for the night. If we’re too tired or running late, we’ll skip Cortina and head straight back after Misurina.

Day 3

Leave for Seceda in the morning. We plan to take the cable car partway and then hike to the summit. Afterwards, we’ll head to Bolzano for our final night.

Day 4

Leave Bolzano, visit Val di Funes, do the Adolf Munkel Trail, and then drive back to Munich in the evening.

Does this itinerary sound reasonable? Would you suggest any modifications or changes?

I also need some advice on something special: I’m planning to propose to my girlfriend during this trip.

My ideal option would be Day 2 during the Tre Cime hike (assuming the weather is good), but I’m worried that the most scenic spots might be crowded and we won’t really get the privacy I’m hoping for. My second option would be Lago di Misurina, though I’m not fully convinced about it.

If Day 2 doesn’t work out, the obvious backup would be Seceda on Day 3, but I imagine the same crowd/privacy issue might come up there as well.

I’d prefer not to do it on Day 1 or Day 4, since Day 1 feels too early into the trip and Day 4 feels a bit too late.

For anyone familiar with the Dolomites: where and when would you do it in this situation? Any tips, recommendations, or hidden spots with a bit more privacy?

Thank you so much!
