I know my honey gourami is still young, but yesterday it was swimming with its fins all flared out, which made me think it might be a male. The tip of the dorsal fin also looks quite pointed. On the other hand, its belly seems pretty round, which makes me wonder if it could be a female instead.
I'm confused.
Its fins seem very flat. I also have another one whose tail sinks, and it has to correct this every few moments. Could these be genetic disorders? I've had these fish for just under a week.
I bought these Bloody Mary Neocaridina from a local aquarium shop.
Would you say this shrimp is A-grade or S-grade? It is almost fully red, except for the tips of its legs. Some individuals seem to be a darker, deeper red than the others.
Also, do you think it is male or female? It is about 1.5 cm long, so I assume it is still quite young. I can see a slightly rounded belly, but I’m not sure if that means it is female. Do you have any tips for telling males and females apart in Bloody Mary shrimp, especially when they are still young?
What would be a fair price for shrimp like this? I bought them for 14 PLN each, which is around 3.8 USD.
And if they start breeding in the future, where would be the best place to sell the young shrimp - to a local aquarium shop, locally online, or through aquarium groups? Any advices?
