I'm working on my sec+ now, I have my A+ but that is some straight up motivation. He doesn't have any connections with anyone there either...I'm actually kinda jealous.
3 YoE, 62,500 as an internal helpdesk employee. The benefits are great and the yearly raises are nice but it would take about 20 or so years to break 6 figures. I love Desktop stuff, I love the support side and I'm looking to break into an Engineer position. I did contracting as a Network Admin and I despised it, I just have lost some hope that if I want to make some good money, it won't be in desktop. I have the A+ and I am considering getting the Sec+ as a clearance, but I really don't like studying or testing because I overthink too much of it.
