Giving birth does not grant moral immunity, and I’ll be the man who tears down the sanctity surrounding the word “mother.”
The whole “but she’s your mother” thing gets way too much protection.
Being a mother does not automatically make someone kind, wise, selfless, or even a good parent. Some mothers are amazing while Some are cruel, manipulative, neglectful, or just shitty people in general!
In a lot of traditional cultures especially, the title itself is treated like it demands permanent respect and forgiveness no matter what the actual behavior was.
Giving birth is not a lifetime immunity card. A good mother deserves respect because she was a good mother. The word “mother” itself should not grant sainthood.
