i’ve been cooking my tapioca pearls differently recently and i’ve found a problem - when i finish making the drink, some of the pearls are really hard, and others really soft.
i used to cook on medium heat for 2.5 mins, then heat off lid partially on for 2 mins, rinse with cold water after. they turned out fine every time, even though this is less cooking time than the pack says.
now, i’ve been cooking on medium for 4 mins, then heat off lid partially on for 4 mins, then drain the water and pour the pearls into a pot with boiling sugar on high heat for 2 mins to infuse the syrup into the boba which i can’t go back from now! when i’m done i pour the boba with the syrup into a metal bowl and stir for a while until it’s no longer super hot. then it goes in the cup with cool milk tea poured on top.
i don’t understand - i’m cooking the boba for longer now, why are some of them becoming hard??
i know they were a big influence on geese so i imagine there’s a lot of king gizzard fans on this subreddit. with them not being on spotify and having a huge discog, i wanna know which songs are the most ‘geese-y’ so i can start getting into the band.

i smoked a bit too much weed and listened to tomorrows crusades, it got to the outro where they’re all laughing and the pitch goes down and it felt like my ears were turning back and melting down my neck.. it’s been a week and whenever i use in-ear headphones it feels like i’m hearing the music from the top of my neck. splendid
didn’t help that i had also queued killing my borrowed time, unaware that there was a fake cd skip part towards the end….. had me thinking my shit was laced with salvia 😭
