Your experience - Has boxing helped you (even a little) with being a little more assertive and resilient in life?

I'm being humble here please be nice back 😊

I'm not asking about assertive in every single aspect of life. I understand that boxing or anything for that matter is not a magic pill.

But has it helped you with being more assertive in any part of your life? Would love to hear your experience.

Me personally, I used to box years ago, before COVID. It gave me this feeling of needing approval from anyone. Which I guess is a type of assertiveness. Not huge but enough to notice. I somehow lost it now. Thus, I am planning to join soon.

Qualified interpreters, is the in person market shrinking?

We all know about Ai and what its doing. I have been doing some in person interpretation for hospitals and general interpretation (going to the bank for instance was one I did recently). But someone they are all moving to online/phone interpretation. I understand it in a sense because there were plenty of occasions where the small gig made no sense economically for me And it is faster for all parties involved.

That said, because of it, it has also become much more freelance and adhoc. I was thinking on getting some qualifications where those are needed. Was thinking about police, or court, also conferencing. Wanted to know if someone here is doing something similar. How is your experience on the market.

(Also, I'm new in this part of reddit, so if there is another sub please let me know)
Thanks!

What job websites have giving your results in this new era?

It feels like many of the old websites are just bombarded with AI applications. LinkedIn, Indeed, etc. Was wondering if its me or if the old system is broken and there is a new way to find jobs online?

Advice for someone testing the waters from TV to projector?

Not using my TV anymore and selling it anyways. I want to test the waters when it comes to a projector to have in the living room but I don't want to make a huge commitment on a good projector as I don't even know I might use it.

Some context: In my family we don't have a TV in the living room and watch things on the tablet if we do watch a film from time to time. I have a TV in another room that I use when I play videogames but I am not playing that much anymore. In terms of videogames I play mostly open worlds ones, so no need to be extremely fast.

Living room: At night it gets dark if we want. During the day it can get bright as it has a wide window. We will set some sun blocking curtains soon, but I reckon it might still be slightly bright on a sunny day. We were thinking of first have some shelfs on the wall where the sofa is to project to the other wall. The distance is about 1.5 meters.

Usage: Mostly TV/Films and occasionally videogames. We don't mind about the size. We don't want something huge. The only main concern is the resolution quality and the brightness.

I don't know where to start looking and what to look for. Budget wise, we don't want to make an investment yet, but we can spend some money in between a real projector and a budget one. We might want to upgrade to a TV projector later on if we enjoy the feeling, but right now we want to try a "good" projector for our living room that could give us a sense of whether we enjoy watching films/TV and me playing videogames on a projector or not.

Any advice?
