How to fix rear foot fatigue during wake foiling

What adjustment would you make?

I've been dialing in my board for wake foiling and have landed on a repeatable, generally neutral setup. By neutral I mean that if I let the board glide, it's neither sinking or climbing. However, on longer rides I'm still experiencing rear foot fatigue so I think I still have some tweaking to do. My question is - what would be your next adjustment?

My setup is as follows. 200 lb rider. Advanced beginner ability. Riding behind a 20' direct drive ski boat (not a surf boat w/ballast) 1550 front wing (AR 4.1), 240 stab, 54cm fuse, 72cm mast, 4'4" board. Boat speed is 11.5 mph. Mast location is slightly aft of center point (-2.5 mark). Back foot is placement is slightly in front of the mast. Been trying to keep speed, mast, foot positions and wing sizes static while tweaking shim. Shim is 0.5 degrees nose down.

Thinking I either move the mast forward or shift my stance backwards? But I've found that best adjustments aren't always obvious.

Suggestions?

Any MT 'skip shifters' out there?

I find that I frequently go from 1st to 3rd on my manual. This is when I'm loafing it around town. I'll also occasionally do a 3rd to 5th or a 4th to 6th.

Just curious if I'm the only one.

Just curious - about how much would your shop charge for this M3 service?

Always do my own maintenance so I don't really know what stuff costs these days. I just completed the service below and am curious what a shop charge might be.

SWAG estimates are expected, precision not required.:)

Car is an E46 M3. Did the following...

  • CPV o-ring replacement
  • Valve adjust
  • Vanos unit reseal
  • Replace exhaust cam position sensor
  • New adjusting, deflection pullys with new serp and AC belt
  • Oil change

This pains me to write. While completing the valve adjustment on my E46 M3, a shim for exhaust valve 1 on cylinder 1 disappeared down the front timing cover. It's completely my mistake...I didn't realize there was an open oil galley into the front timing area so I didn't have that area secured with a rag. But what's done is done so now the question is what to do.

I've made all efforts to locate the missing shim. Pulled the vanos unit to better expose the chain galley and am using a 4mm long reach magnetic probe to search every accessible area. I can see down front cover and can run the probe along the sides to what feels like a screen over the oil pan. But so far, no luck in seeing or recovering the shim.

I'd love your thoughts on what you think I should do especially if you're familiar with the S54.
