New Reader

Hi.
This is a person who is wanting to get into Baihe. I've read chinese novels before, action driven, hetero romance, even danmei. So I believe I'm familiar with the culture and all a bit (won't call myself a pro or anything but I am acquainted). I got a copy of 'Female General and Eldest Princess' as well as 'The Beauty's Blade' without thinking. I admit I've read like 20% or so of each book but I've not been able to move forward. here is why:
FGAEP- my copy doesn't have any a map or anything (i don't know whether it is supposed to) and I find it hard to follow with the world building. if someone could explain, tha would be wonderful.
Beauty's Blade- Too many names and plot is confusing. do the leads know each other from before? is it their first time meeting? why are they acting familiar and then saying 'this was their first meeting'. and then the names are spinning around.
Please either explain this
thanks
Edited to remove the part asking for recs

Looking for regressing novels

As the title says. I've recently been interested in regressing novels. I'll prefer little to no angst and lots of comedy. Hopefully fully translated into English. I don't really have any as an example so just rec me whatever you think fits the bill.
(First post here, hope it doesn't get taken down)
