I know the job market right now now is in shambles and everyone is holding on to their jobs or constantly looking for one.

I figured I’d ask here just in case if anyone has any leads for a media or communication job that’s not a manager/director position.

Been working at one of the local news stations for almost a year now out of college and come to find out my raise once I hit a year is a whole 20 cents and we get no cost of living raise.

Half my monthly pay goes to my rent and I make like $200 too much to qualify for snap and because I occasionally get overtime that pay keeps me out of qualifying for low income housing.

So I am quite literally living paycheck to paycheck unable to save any money and at this point I’m waiting for my lease to end next year and just leaving and moving in with my parents.

I have been job searching for months trying to find something that pays better, but most roles are director roles that I don’t have experience for or it pays less that what I make now and they want one person to do the job of 5 people (marketing, video, photo, social media, graphics)

I’ve looked at the hospitals, school district, city jobs, indeed, LinkedIn, Facebook, but just nothing.

I know people will suggest getting roommates to cut my housing costs down, and I know in this economy we can’t all get what we want, but as someone who is nearing 30, I just can’t fathom having roommates after not needing any my whole life.

Just wondering if anyone knows the process of transferring or applying to a role at a different Tegna station.

Been at my current station a year and with how much I’m getting paid and the cost of living increases it just isn’t viable anymore.

Parents are moving to a city with a Tegna station so I figured I could move in with them and cut my expenses in half. The station had a job opening for my same position (it’s gone now) so I was wondering what the process/ chances are I could transfer.

I have also applied to different stations in the area, but obviously a transfer would be easiest.

Just a heads up, one of my coworkers that’s down at hoopfest said ICE is patrolling their parking lot by the north bank courts, so just a heads up in general or if your court is near there.

“A 20 year old man has been charged with felony voyeurism for allegedly taking videos of men inside a Washington State University dorm shower and campus bathroom.

Juan Velasco has been charged with three counts of felony 1st degree voyeurism in Whitman County Superior Court. According to court documents, this investigation by Washington State University Police began in April of last year. A man told campus officers that he caught a male using his phone to video him showering on the 3rd floor of Stephenson South.

The alleged victim took pictures of the suspect who was identified by officers as Velasco.
Police seized two cell phones from Velasco. Two additional videos of unidentified men using campus bathrooms were allegedly found on Velasco's phones. Court documents show that Velasco reportedly admitted to officers that he secretly recorded the men.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Friday in Colfax. The documents do not mention if Velasco was a WU student. He is currently not listed as a student on the institution's website.”

I notice that as the weather is getting nicer, there’s more beer gardens and alcohol related events happening which is nice, but I was wondering if there’s any similar events for weed? I know those are usually reserved for 4/20 and obviously it’s different from each state, but when I was in California there were multiple events throughout the year like Secret Sesh, High Times, random hemp events.

Just trying to find some things to do to meet more people in general since I’m pretty new here.
