Disable google app pop-up

This is making me crazy. Yes, I still use google for my search engine in Safari. But it constantly pesters me to ask if I want to open the google app instead of staying in Safari and my answer of course is NO. If I wanted to use the google app, I would have done so. I’m just trying to use google’s search engine, but I only want to use safari for my browser. Is there a way to make google stop pestering me to use their app? Is there a different search engine I should use instead? One that works well and doesn’t badger me to go to a different app?

People’s Choice Festival in Boalsburg this year

Hi all, looking forward to checking this out next week, as I’ve never been. The annual arts fest in State College is fine but pretty overwhelming, so I’d like to try the alternative. I found their site, but I don’t see any info on parking. Does anyone know anything about that? And any suggestions for a first time visitor?

Billing for progressive lenses

Does it make sense that I would be charged for both bifocal and progressive lenses on a single pair of glasses? (I’m assuming no.) And this is probably a dumb question but is there an obvious way to tell which ones I have?

Banneton storage

Is it necessary to store your bannetons in any particular container or location? I’m afraid leaving it in a kitchen cupboard without any sort of cover will invite bugs / pantry moths. Should be inside a bag?

I will never ever buy Brawny paper towels

I can’t take those Brawny paper towel commercials any more. The actors and brawny guy are so annoying and now every time I use a paper towel, that stupid call pops into my head. (Yeah I guess the commercial works - in terms of being memorable.) Anyway, I officially vow NEVER to buy Brawny paper towels, even if they’re the only roll on the store shelf.

Over-proofed?

I’m making the Peasant Pot Bread from the Kneadlessly Simple book, and I’m not sure how to tell if it’s over-proofed. It’s on hour 12 of an 18 hour overnight rise on my counter. It had doubled overnight and I gave it a stir as recommended about an hour ago (7 am my time). It’s already doubled again after 1.5 hours! I’m hesitant to let it sit for another 5 hours. How do I tell if it’s a good time to move to the next step (where you fold over the sides and do a final 2-hour rise)?

I was making a balsamic vinaigrette and only realized after I’d put the rest of the ingredients together that I only had half the amount of required balsamic vinegar. 😩 I do have other varieties at home - red wine, white wine, rice, white, and apple cider. Can I use one of these to finish the dressing? Or maybe I just sub half the remaining amount needed with water to get the right consistency without changing the flavor itself?
