By affordable, assume cost-of-living so someone on minimum wage could comfortably live with roommates, or a 1-bedroom apartment on the higher end of a five-figure salary. I understand costs are rising nationally regardless, but I speak in relative terms. I also understand that there may even be affordable areas and neighborhoods of generally high-cost-of-living areas like New York and San Francisco, but perhaps at the cost of general safety and crime.
