The world feels evil and fake

I woke up this Sunday and decided it would be good for my body and mind to get a workout in. I am by no means a workout connoisseur, but I figured it would be a nice way to start my day.

I get to Planet Fitness, start working out, and I’m SHOCKED. Why are there SO many TVs??? It was Fox News, CNN, Fox News, CNN… you get the point.
And when it wasn’t the news, it was commercials for compounded GLP-1 medications that aren’t FDA-approved, or Megan Fox promoting Ro and their version of men’s Viagra (I like Megan Fox, don’t get me wrong lol).

I want to make it clear that I absolutely believe in free will and think people should be able to make whatever decisions they want about their own bodies. No judgment whatsoever. But the advertising itself felt so predatory. Between the constant depressing news and commercials trying to sell you something to change your body, the whole place felt like a doom-and-gloom hole.
And my biggest question is, why are we pushing all of this at a GYM of all places???

Everything has become so commercialized. It feels like so much advertising is designed to make you feel like something is wrong with you so you’ll buy whatever they’re selling. And it’s crazy to me that even a place you’re going to improve your physical and mental health is filled with it.
It feels like you genuinely cannot escape the chaos, negativity, or constant marketing anywhere anymore. We are living in such weird times.

Maybe I’m overthinking it, but does anyone else find this bizarre?
