I know most people already know this, but the data shows that more people still max E first even though it’s worse. Heads up though! The best order is 3 points in E → max W → max E. Don’t max W straight away, you still want those first 3 points in E.

Why is W better? E has a longer CD and lower shield value than other enchanter shields, already making Ardent/Staff less effective. On top of that, W already gives crazy AS/MS at max rank and has terrible AP ratios, so there’s even less reason to build those AP items. All of this, combined with W’s lower CD when maxed, lets Renata build tanky (Locket/Vow) and potentially get a 2nd W off in a fight.
