Recieved a refund only after filing a BBB complaint

I sold tickets and a parking pass on StubHub a few months ago. I transferred the tickets and the pass to the buyer through Ticketmaster. I have the email confirmation that they were transferred.

The day of the event, StubHub contacted me and said the buyer received the tickets but not the parking pass. I sent them proof of transfer, and StubHub replied that they had received it and that there was nothing more for me to do.

A few days later, they charged me $89 for failing to send the parking pass to the buyer. I disputed the charge with StubHub and sent them all the documentation that showed I sent the parking pass. I had several conversations with customer support where they told me I would be refunded. Then. after several months, they denied my dispute without a clear reason. They said it was a final decision.

I ended up filing a claim with the BBB. That seemed to work. StubHub quickly responded to the BBB claim, stating they had escalated the issue and would refund $89.

I'm glad I finally got my refund. But, geez, what a waste of time and energy.

So if you're having refund issues with StubHub, I'd definitely recommend filing a BBB complaint. They seem to manage those better than submitting directly. Good luck!

StubHub charged me after I transferred a parking pass. Am I in the wrong?

Looking for some advice from anyone who's dealt with StubHub seller disputes.

I sold tickets to an event through StubHub. The listing included a parking pass.

For this event, Ticketmaster treated the tickets and the parking pass as two separate digital assets, so they had to be transferred separately.

Here's what happened:

  • May 14: I transferred both the tickets and the parking pass through Ticketmaster. I have confirmation emails for both transfers.
  • May 31 (event day): The buyer accepted the tickets but apparently never accepted the parking pass transfer.
  • StubHub contacted on the day of the event me saying the buyer didn't have the parking pass.
  • I immediately replied with proof that I had transferred it on May 14.
  • StubHub thanked me for sending the documentation. They never asked me to re-transfer the pass or told me there was any remaining issue.
  • A week later they charged my American Express card $89.
  • I appealed and attached my proof of transfer.
  • StubHub denied the appeal, stating that I "did not include the parking pass," even though I have documentation showing it was transferred.

My position is that I fulfilled my obligation by transferring both the tickets and the parking pass. If StubHub had replied and asked me to send the parking pass again, I would have done so immediately. Instead, they acknowledged my proof, never contacted me again, and then charged my card.

Has anyone dealt with something similar?

Do I have any chance of getting this reversed through StubHub, or should I just continue pursuing the dispute through American Express? Has anyone successfully won a dispute in a situation like this?
