Navy Veteran Turned Premed Looking for Advice on My MD Application
Hey everyone!
I’m a 24-year-old Biology/pre-med student with a 3.84 cumulative GPA and about one year left until I complete my bachelor’s degree.
My path has been a little nontraditional. Ten days after graduating high school, I left for the U.S. Navy and spent five years on active duty, serving as a Sonar Technician (ST) and Search and Rescue Swimmer (SRS). I separated as an E-5/Petty Officer Second Class and had several MAJOR experiences/stories that required leadership and making important decisions under pressure.
Since leaving the military, I’ve transitioned into college and healthcare. I’m currently a licensed CNA providing direct patient care and am working toward becoming a hospital Patient Care Technician (PCT).
I haven’t taken the MCAT yet, but with about a year left in undergrad, I’d love some feedback on how my profile is shaping up for MD admissions and what I should prioritize from here.

Hey everyone! My wife and I recently got a Standard Poodle! His name is Theodore Giovanni Mason
We were wondering what color he may turn out to be. Any guesses from the experts? His Mom is Apricot and his Dad is Silver. We’ve noticed there’s some brown in his fur.
