My experience with Claude Pro

I recently subscribed to Claude Pro and I have to say the experience has been great. I'm using it with Claude code

I had read online about how people were hitting max weekly usage in a day and was always watching out not to hit the cap.

Yesterday I had it build a complex feature in an android app including designing screens from images and was pretty sure I would hit or come close to hitting max usage while building the feature. To come to check later, I had only used 15% usage and was just wondering why I was limiting myself.
I'm there wondering if people who are hitting max usage are trying to build an entire Facebook in a day or if it's Claude being easy on me because I just got started with the subscription.

What has been your experience with Claude Pro, any tips on using it and what models are you guys using?

Thinking of completely overhauling my life

I 34m, works from home mostly doing freelancing work but I'm just realising I'm having no life. I used to be a lab analyst but switched to software engineering towards my 30s. I got a well paying job after about a year and a half but quit after 3 years because the workplace became toxic.

I felt I was done with coding and tried other stuff like trading and AI jobs. Those didn't work out so I found myself freelancing doing coding jobs again. As you know the software engineering job market has been tough but that's not the point. I'm thinking the whole software engineering, remote work is not for me because it has no life. You are mostly working on mentally intensive stuff that at the end of the day you have little energy so even your social life collapses.

So I'm thinking of completely abandoning it but that would mean starting from zero. I could try getting a lab analyst job again though that could take time with the current economy and the work gap that I have ever since leaving lab analyst job would not be helpful either.

I would like to hear what you think. Would you advice me to ditch this work style and hit the tarmac again or what would be your advice for me. It's not me being picky, I've just reached a point I've felt it's not it. Would just love to hear some thoughts.

What are you doing if you find a money glitch online?

Sometimes it's good to fantasise.
Assuming you find an online glitch that gives you good money daily, legally of course, what are you doing? Are you letting anyone in on the secret, are you quitting your job, what are you doing?

Mental Exhaustion

I've just been mentally and emotionally exhausted recently and I can't tell why

I just feel exhausted to interact with people.

I work from home and remotely and I thought it could be because of spending much of the time in the house, so I've been trying to get out often but no, I'm just too exhausted. It's just hard keeping up living the normal life. I find myself just spending so much energy to look normal around people.

It's not like I don't have energy and motivation to do stuff, but mentally I'm just exhausted. I currently have work to do but my brain just says nah. Relaxing in the house means, just looking at screens on social media and going out doesn't help either. It's such a predicament.

I'm a software developer, wonder if there are fellow devs who have such experience or any one else who had such and how they have dealt with it. It seems like something that comes in cycles. Would love to hear if someone has such experience.
Some might say burnout but I don't overwork myself and I try to practise healthy lifestyle.

Having a work-life balance as a Freelancer working from home is not an easy feat.

For one, work is not structured. One minute you are cold DMing clients, the other you are browsing through online platforms for jobs and later you are deep writing code or whatever the main job is. Tasks you need to do can crop up any time, so it's hard to have a fixed work schedule.
During the day everyone is busy so your options for social interactions is social media which ends up being doom scrolling. When you take breaks, it's more screens for you.

If you are not careful, you could go up to 3 days having not spoken to a single soul physically. You could think you are okay but we all know physical social interactions is a muscle that needs to be exercised occasionally otherwise you find yourself unable to read social cues or emotions. It's when you go out that you realise you are forgetting how to interact.

I wanna know if there is someone who has a working system that works to ensure balance. Many will tell you to join a gym or hang out at local joints to socialise but what if those are not options for you because you paused the gym and don't drink.

I'll tell you what I have been doing personally which is not easy to follow through.
I try to end work at 4p.m, anything else can wait till next day. I purposefully go out to get breakfast in the morning so I can meet up with people and I try to have conversations anytime I'm out running errands.
For the weekend, it's where I fail most because a week can end without me having made any plans and because I don't like working on weekends I can end up with a boring one where I'm indoors or not having any exciting thing to do.

So I wanna learn from you, what structures or system or routine do you have in place to ensure a balanced life as a freelancer or WFH employee?

We all have that one big business idea that we think will change the world na itatutoa block.

Most of these ideas however just remain in the minds of people and never see light of the day.

So I'm curious, why have you not put your idea into action?
For majority its the capital but another group is just waiting for stars to align; when they get time, when they get the right people to work with, some think it's not yet time and others are just afraid to execute their ideas. Which is yours?

My reason is somehow weird. My idea is quite a long shot and requires quite a lot of effort that it's been on the shelf for a while. I need to cater for short-term financial needs before I can venture there. I'm also afraid it could isolate me mentally because it's quite niche and once I get in it's all I'll think about and I somehow fear that. Those are quite weird reasons I think 😀 and yes it I know it might not be the best idea I think it is.

So what's your reason?
