What ive got here is an Indonesian military riot control smock issued to both police officers and soldiers. PHH stands for "Penanggulangan Huru Hara" or Riot control in english. commonly associated with the May 1998 civil unrest. Features 6 pouches, a crotch flap/beaver tail, and a unique brown black splotch camouflage. Theres not much known about this specific camouflage because of its obsecure nature, but from what ive gathered its exclusively made for identification rather than actually blending into the enviroment 🤓 love to know what you think, thanks.
For some more background, this vest (officially designated PACK, COMBAT, LIGHTWEIGHT) was manufactured by CQC PLC Ltd. in England for Indonesian forces in a limited run in 1985. there isnt a known list of specific units within these bigger units it was issued to but with the current information we know it was distributed across Indonesian Special Forces (KOPASSUS) & Strategic Forces (KOSTRAD).
It was tested by British SAS members as a Trials equipment and it was basically a copy of the british SAS P72 Vest Adapted to Indonesian military standards. (source: Zhen, @Frownland_Archive on IG)
welcome aboard to the mightiest LandShip in the Royal Navy! this bad girl weighs 80 tons and runs 100% purely on Indian exported tea.
Roughly recreated what my granduncle wore in East Timor in the 1980s. He was in the Indonesian Airborne Corps as a combat engineer, and wouldve carried a Belgian FN FNC or an Indonesian licensed one.
Excuse me for nerding out in this next part. The vest is interestingly an experimental trials made by CQC Ltd. in England, its coated with some kind of Anti-IR substance.
Would like to hear your thoughts or suggestions on what i should add.
I bought these Gaiters yesterday and noticed that they a were a lighter khaki color than my other OD3 items. It has 9 eyelets and rivets which i have never seen. The eyelets are brass and the hooks are steel. Named to Kennedy J.J
