I’m so scared

I filed for my llc and ein. Got my first business credit card and account approved. Now I have this pit in my stomach and I’m so scared I’m making a bad decision. I’m starting a logistics/freight company and it’s going to be a huge risk and I’m scared to continue. Oof.

How to get funding?

How do you go about getting funding for a new company? I need roughly $50k for startup including truck. (Freight / logistics). I do have a house I own, but it was bought last year so I can’t pull equity from that yet. Looking for advice! I won’t be able to save that much cash as I’m sure we all know how the economy is, I’ve saved as much as I can and it’s been stagnant for a while.

Do you just finance the truck like normal and get a business credit card for the rest?

Just put in my 2 weeks

I just put in my 2 weeks in procurement… it’s been fun but I do not enjoy desk work. Landed an operations role that pays a lot better so I’m hoping I enjoy that a bit more. Much more hands on and people oriented. Wish me luck I hope I made the right decision…

I am looking to start a company soon and am wondering which is a more profitable/scaleable business. Grease trap and septic pumping or box truck freight. Trucks are much more expensive if I go the septic route but it seems like it would be easier to run.

Has anyone tried to run either? Thoughts?

Has anyone done work in commercial grease pumping? I’m looking into starting a company. I have $100k budget financed for a truck and 10k reserve in the bank. It seems like a very well needed service industry that could scale very well beyond grease traps if you get multiple trucks (septic, hood cleanings…) margins don’t seem super high but overall if built into a good route could this be a scaleable Business?

So I work in procurement currently, I don’t enjoy the works so much, however I enjoy the company and environment I work in. They often buy us food, very open to time off, I work 8-4:30, have my own office. It’s nice. However, I feel capped at my company. I only make $55k a year and there’s no benefits or room to move up within the company.

I was offered a role in operations for a much larger company. $64k a year, full benefits and 401k, 6:30-4pm, more outdoors and physical environment. However, this role is a direct path into managerial roles, it’s a program to build into operations management.

Both jobs are relevant to my degree I’m pursuing and I feel the new offer is much better on paper and for my career long term. I’m just worried about leaving my comfortable spot and regretting it. It’s not often you find companies as chill as the one I’m at now.
