Surgeon Reccs

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if any other trans masc people have undergone hysterectomy in VIC; and have any recommendations for surgeons?

I will happily go private, however my referral to a recent specialist was refused based on ‘non disclosed reasons’ (we know what that means).

I’m in a bit of a sticky spot where unfortunately this has become (not to be dramatic) a life or death situation, which my regular doctors understand and agree on, and are doing everything they can to support me.

I’m needing care ASAP - so if anyone has successfully undergone a hysterectomy and have recommendations for good, respectful, preferably quick surgeons, I’d love to hear.

:)

Hi!

Please note this post may contain some dysphoria triggering content, so proceed with caution.

Some of you may have seen my last post about unexpected >!period!< which unfortunately came back again this month. (FML)

I’ve had it investigated, and while my T levels are fine, my E has skyrocketed. This is likely due to severe weight loss and my T dose potentially becoming too high for my body and reconverting to E (yay). (This isn’t 100%, it can be hard to work out, however it’s the working theory). Playing with my hormones is going to be a pain as I’m on the lowest possible dose due to being very slim even before weight loss, and the fact that I’m actively trying to gain weight. Because of this and the fact I also have PMDD (Pre Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder) I have had cycles blocked since age 11 due to how severe they were; with very heavy bleeding, pain, often lasting 2 - 3 weeks. (The current cycles that were NOT supposed to happen have not been this severe, thankfully) My doctors and I are looking at getting me booked for a full hysterectomy ASAP. (I.e literally give it to me today please I need this yeeted)

For people here who have had a full hysterectomy - did you notice any difference in your stomach? Was it flatter, feel lighter, less bloating, more comfortable? Did you notice any change in the shape of your abdomen? Obviously I know after surgery bloating, swelling etc are totally normal. But more in terms of after that, what’s been peoples experience? I’m really hopeful this may help dissipate a LOT of the issues that have been getting steadily more severe, which in turn may make it easier for me to recover from >!anorexia!<

I’ve had increasingly severe stomach issues (bloat etc) over the past few months that coincide directly with my E rising. As well as severely increased hypersensitivity in my stomach and surrounding area. I know PMDD often goes hand in hand with Endo, and many of my old symptoms are very Endo coded. But I have never had it investigated, as well. They stopped. (Until now) There’s also a family history of endometrial cancer so there’s many reasons for me to have this procedure done. I’m really interested to see how others bodies have felt once recovered, especially if it was done solely for gender affirmation and not Endo etc.

I’d really love to hear others men’s experiences here, so please if you have experience and are comfortable to share, please do.
