Just moved into a 3 year old build and while doing some cleaning I noticed this.

Kitchen Island has GPOs located on each side, power comes from single socket under the sink which runs to a power board that distributes power to the side GPOs via a butchered extension cord.

Pretty sure this is non compliant.
