Troop ratio 40/20/40, what is it good for?
I recently started seeing people use 40/20/40 troop ratio and I would like to understand the reason, because so far I havent seen a single explanation and whoever I asked just said they learnt it from someone else but dont know the reason for using it.
Honestly, it doesnt make sense to me unless maybe it is used by a maxed player, but even then im kinda confused about it. Maybe it is to do with T12 troop skills?
60/40/0 makes sense because the idea is it works off lancer troop skills and you snipe mm and then overwhelm remaining enemy inf+lanc numbers with your own which are superior.
50/1/49 (or similar variations) with Mia/Philly makes sense because the idea is to leverage specific hero skills to boost killing power of mm and chew threw enemy quickly and/or to give them more staying power to do the same.
40/20/40 makes no sense to me since you are just stretching yourself thin in every area and you are not even using Mia/Philly or whatever other specific hero skill combination, you are just doing slightly adjusted 50/20/30.
So I would love if someone knowledgeable would be able to provide a good explanation why 40/20/40 is so popular all of a sudden and what is the advantage of it and for which situations. Thanks!
/edit: Also, i should say that i would love an explanation from Rally/Garrison perspective and solo attacks (like for Alliance Championship or Winter Siege etc), and am more interested in the latter.
