Upgrade or Pre-Built

I've spent a good chunk of the afternoon with ChatGPT, trying to make a decision today and ultimately I'm still struggling. I know, AI is the villain in the PC parts marketplace, but sometimes its helpful in aggregating a bunch of information from all over the interwebs in one space based on what you are able to provide.

So here's the dilemma, I've had my PC for 7+ years, I bought it from ibuypower, and since then the only upgrade I've made to it was increase to 16gb of ddr4. Otherwise I have an AMD Ryzen 7 1700, GIGABYTE AX370 Gaming Motherboard, and a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 8gb. The AI states that the biggest thing holding me back right now is probably the processor and that would give me the biggest boost while suggesting a Ryzen 5 5600, however would only show a 20-40% increase to fps. All in all it recommended I replace the cpu, gpu and ram and said i'm looking at $700-800 in upgrades to my current system.

This feels like a short term solution to hardware/technology that is old. I want to get current, and I started to look at pcpartspicker to build a pc... and as I started to build out a pc with the parts I wanted, it started to look like it might be cheaper to just go with a pre-bult and upgrade off of that. ChatGPT also gave me current suggestions based on what is currently available on the market and its suggestion was to wait for sales/competition, so if I am going to go that route that's probably the option I'm going with.

I guess my question to you is what would you do... upgrade the current pc? would you still try to build your own? or would a pre-built be the better solution?

Trying to keep the pc relatively cheap $1100 give or take. Ideally want a 9600xt 16gb or 5060 ti 16gb. Which still arent exactly cheap cards.

Help me fix my Survivor Squads

Everytime I return to this gamemode I seem to forget the best way to setup the survivor squads. Autofill was somehow turned to on, which I know is bad. And it made some changes so I decided to clear everything and somehow went from 75 down to 66. I dont have a ton of mythic leads, what should I be prioritizing? I assume a mythic is generally better in a spot overall, should i be prioritizing personality matches or making sure every spot is just filled in with a legendary and slot in personality matches later? If i remember set bonuses aren't really much of a factor.
