Job offer in Newcastle

Hey there!

Posting this to get your honest opinion,

I work in a global company and there's a possibility of me getting a manager job in a recently opened facility in Newcastle,

The contract I would go for is not a permanent job, it would 2 to 3 years in AUS to live the experience, get the job experience also.

I would be going with my wife (27) and myself (32), no kids but we would like to bring our dog.

We live in Madrid, Spain.

The reason why I would consider it is because I have been in Newcastle already, just for a week because of work and I loved it.

Also I think it's the right time to live the experience and then come back to Spain and settle.

What would you have to say to me, for me to have in consideration before taking this decision.

We love hiking and beaches... Is it too dangerous to do these things with the amount of wildlife you have or it's just myths and media that makes it look that bad.

Also how is it with the housing, and cost of living?

Last question, in general, do local people do not like when their manager is a foreigner? Would it bring me problems?

EDIT: Wow!! I've been getting so many good comments and feedback from you guys, thanks for that!

A little update in my situation, the offer has not been presented to me yet but what I've heard is that it's supposed to be my salary (according to my position and salary margins of that position in the area) + cost of housing (according to market levels in that area) + bonus for the wife as she's not guaranteed to work. The vehicle is still not on the table but I'm pretty sure it should be added to.

If this is all correct I should not worry about commercials right ? Nevertheless as you have been fully supporting I will post here the offer and you guys could help me identify if it's a true-to-market offer or not.

My main concern and my wife's BIGGEST concern is the dog, she's on the negative side of putting our dog on that process even though I have contacted a specialized company that takes care of these types of transfers (NOT CHEAP AT ALL) but in my mind if you're to do it the best is to do it the right way, and they tell you all the vaccines and process's you need to do prior the flight and quarantine
