Having to invert channels on two identical Goosky S1's + a newbie's story on why you remove the blades when you have your heli on the bench.

Hello fellow pilots, I have a head scratcher for a fairly new heli pilot:

On my pink Goosky S1, I have to invert Channels 2,3, and 6. It was my first ever heli I've set up on my Radiomaster Boxer, so I didn't question it whatsoever.

On my blue S1, I had no need to invert any of the channels.

They both fly identically - I just have to switch between models on my transmitter if I want to take a different one up.

Any guesses as to why this is? Anybody had this same thing happen?

To which, I had an important habit bear fruits. I'm extremely glad I took the blades off of the blue one and tested everything before I tried anything. The throttle cut function I set up placed the value at zero head speed for the pink S1, but it commanded 100% headspeed on the blue. Thankfully I had it strapped down and blades removed. When I was brand new to this hobby, I rolled my eyes when I was told to take the blades off. I did, though. I quickly learned why. Don't let the latter happen to you.

Getting into the hobby, South Atlanta region + a few questions + cat tax

Hello pilots, I just want to open a discussion here so a new guy can have some reading.

I got bit by the bug good and well after I flew around the K270 for a while, but was disappointed by how quickly the thing fell apart on its own just after two weeks of routine flying and only one mild crash.

I went kitted myself out with the Goosky S1 + Radiomaster Boxer. I scooped four batteries and a M6D charger. I'm having a great time. Only two crashes so far. After one crash I had to replace the tail rotor and guard, hence the fun colors. Pink skids because they look cool and it actually makes it pop out more to me.

I've gotten a good grasp on some basics using the self level mode. I frequently practice different orientation hovers, box patterns, and coordinated turns. I'm dabbling in manual / 3d mode but tend to lose it quickly and hit the panic self-level button I have programmed. But, I'm weening off the self level mode and getting 1-2 minutes of just stable hovering and left-right-forward-back in 3d mode. I want to get upside down or do cool loops and shit but that's a ways off. I just want to be able to fly in a circle and figure eight right now without my heart rate hitting 140.

So - How can I transition myself from herding this copter in the general direction I want it to go to a more graceful and practiced flight? Asides from the obvious of just flying more and hitting the simulator. I've seen a lot of discourse here about going to a local RC field (or open field in general) and mingle / learn from other pilots there - and I'd love to do nothing else but that. But...my time is mostly spoken for right now as I have two young kids at home.

The cul-de-sac I live on is big enough for general flying, but having trees in my peripheries limits what I can do maneuver wise. My two year old loves watching the S1 buzz around and she's learned to stay welded to my side while it's flying, so maybe visiting a field can happen occasionally. If there's anybody in the South Atlanta region on here, I'd love a recommendation.

Anyways, please share anything that helped you early on in the comments. I can elaborate more on my setup like collective curve, expo, etc if need be. TIA.

Oh yeah, a little tidbit of lore - the dragonfly sticker on the Goosky box is a kill mark. I quite literally cut a dragonfly in half on the 4th flight of this helicopter. It flew directly up to the copter, flirted with it, and then met its demise lol
