Conflicting beliefs in a relationship . Need some advice.
Hey everyone, I’m a Muslim guy living in the US, and I recently met a Filipina Christian girl who lives near me.
We’ve only known each other for a short time, but we connected really well and both admitted to having feelings for each other.
The issue is religion. She believes she should marry someone who shares her Christian faith, while in Islam, Muslim men are allowed to marry Christian women. I respect her beliefs and would never expect her to convert. In the Christian faith does it disallow her from marrying a Muslim?
She decided we shouldn’t pursue anything romantic, but we still talk and spend time together. I genuinely like her, and it’s hard to completely let go when the feelings are mutual.
I wanted to ask Filipino Christians or anyone who’s been in a similar situation: what should I do. My current plan is to wait for her to open up even tho there is a possibility of me being hurt but I think that’s what it means to be in love.
I’d appreciate any advice or personal experiences. I’m just trying to understand her perspective better.
