How do you actually keep track of everything when helping an ageing parent?

Hey everyone,

I've noticed that as my parents have gotten older, there seems to be a lot of small things that I need to keep on top of, things like appointments, paperwork, follow-ups, and just general organisation.

I was wondering if anyone else is struggling with managing all of this and how you keep track of everything?

Do you use a shared calander, whatsapp, spreadsheets, or other apps? or do you mainly keep track of everything yourself?

I feel like I've become the default organiser in the family and its becoming a lot more work than I anticipated.

Would be interested to hear what works (or doesn't work) for other families.

What became hardest as your parents became older and started needing more help?

My parents are getting older and have gradually become more reliant on me for help, although they’re still living independently.

It hasn’t been one major change. Instead, lots of small responsibilities seem to have accumulated over time.

For those who have been through this stage, what became the biggest challenge? How did your family manage it, and did most of the responsibility end up falling to one person?

I’d especially like to know what surprised you. What seemed manageable initially but became much harder over time?
