Hey everyone! I'm u/SituationWarm7209, founding moderator of r/digitalism2.

This is our new home for all things related to the band Digitalism. Apparently there was another one that got banned for not having a moderator.

Feel free to share thoughts, photos, hot takes, etc.

The vibe I get is that Julian is pathologically demand avoidant. "Work hard and say it's easy". I think he struggles when he feels pressured to do something. Think about how incredible Tyranny was, and how (generally) The Voidz albums afterwards were less ambitious.

Ode to the Mets is an incredible song with real emotional depth. In my mind it is hard to argue that he is not invested in The Strokes *at all* if he's writing stuff like that with them. I think he simply calls it a "day job" so that expectations are low.

Anyways, I haven't stated this clearly yet, and I just wanted to get it out and see what y'all felt.

Also, I think "Going Shopping" is about his relationship with the band.
