Hi, all! Kraken fan coming in peace with a perhaps silly question. I don’t drink beer, as I’m allergic to ingredients in it. I don’t drink alcohol at all, by choice, and never have, as I’m hearing impaired and booze greatly impacts equilibrium. I could look convincingly drunk for about two dollars. That said, I play, colloquially, “beer league” For those of you are LDS, and in SLC in general, is “beer league” a term, or do you just hear and say “rec league”? SLC has so many transplants I’m sure you’ve heard it, so I was curious as to what’s the more common vernacular.

Barkin really nails her character, and makes Smurf so easy to hate with that upward turned head, nose in the air, slow walk she does after exiting most group dynamics. It’s something I despise in anybody, and I suspect it elicits a similar visceral response in many other viewers.

Last summer I moved from British Columbia to a small town 20 minutes outside Winnipeg. We have one pharmacy, and a fantastic pharmacist who mans it. The town itself it tiny, 550 people, and I was in there wearing my white CVF jersey as a man walked in and exclaimed “no WAY! I never thought I’d see a ‘Birds jersey in Manitoba!” We got talking and he’s the longtime best friend and former college teammate of Max McCormick, CVF captain who just retired. Now a pharmaceutical rep, this dude invited me to play goal in his weekly pickup, where I’ll likely get lit up. lol

Not advertising it, just curious, as it’s a small community where our GDT’s usually run three pages, as compared to a Leafs GDT running over two hundred. We’re a drop of water in an ocean. It’s nice to connect with other Kraken fans, wherever it may be.
