JS gave the priesthood to some women?

I learned that JS (might have) gave the priesthood to some women, which goes against the current teachings of the church. It also seems very out of character for the image a lot of exmormons (myself included) have built up around JS. Obviously that makes the current church look extra bad from an outsiders perspective.

If it's true, and he did, how do you reconcile that fun fact to work with the rest of church history and JS's character?

Extra note: from my own study, it seems he wasn't really planning on it, but a lot of woman though he was, before it got shot down after his death. He was dead, so he couldn't really confirm or deny

[Discussion] Artists, what does your schedule look like?

If you had to treat your job like a nine to five, how much time do you usually allocate to each task, and do you edit and/or post in-between filming, even if the art isn't complete?

[Discussion] [Career] Where to start??

Or rather, how to start over again.

Three years ago I tried starting up a online shop for vtuber art and failed quite miserably. I didn't know much and made a few legal mistakes, with next to zero web-presence outside of reddit.

I just lost my job, and want to try again.

I'm not starting from scratch, but still feel pretty overwhelmed. I feel like I did the basic checklists in the tutorials and now am looking out over a vast ocean. For instance, I have a webpage, I have a separate art platform for my products, I set up some socials, and I wrote up a TOS.

Now I'm stuck at the promoting stage. The most difficult part is I don't have a consistent art style to showcase, even though I've *picked* one, so it looks rather random. I did my best in my website to make it look cohesive. I've already got several unsold vtubers that are of a different style, but I'm not sure if making even more STUFF is a wise move, when it might just collect dust like the rest of my art.

Basically, I don't know how to grow. I've thought about making fanart of things to attract attention, or making yet another premade piece. I really, really want to do customs.

Any tips? ToT

Vtuber Gacha Style - Open!

Hey ya'll!! I don't usually post here, but I recently made a stylized gacha vtuber. She was drawn by hand using clip-studio paint, and is going for $180 USD. HOWEVER! This is first come, first serve, and comes with exclusive streaming and content creating rights.

She is not rigged, but she's fully ready for rigging. I'd be happy to work with you to get that done.

Comment or DM me, or head to my website. <3

My website: https://skribblynn.my.canva.site/portfolio-mikalynn

I do etsy as well! (It's currently closed, but DM me and I'll see about opening a slot.)

My favorite quote from JS is:

"There are a great many wise men and women too in our midst who are too wise to be taught; therefore they must die in their ignorance, and in the resurrection they will find their mistake." -Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 309; History of the Church 5:424

I found it while I was still trying to believe in the church and flipping through the "Encyclopedia of Joseph Smith's Teachings" by Larry E. Dahl and Donald Q. Cannon. I guess I'll show it to anyone I don't like that is concerned about me leaving the church.

Its just the perfect amount of ironic and catty that it tickles my humor, with a dash of melancholy. Sorry if it steps on toes, may delete later /gen

Several people in the subreddit and exmos have shared that the church today is completely different from the church they left. Relaxed, open, mainstream, whatever you want to call it.

For example, my mom shared how deceived she felt when she learned that Joseph Smith translated using a stone in a hat in her late years. I however had been taught it in seminary, so it seemed normal to me.

History is extremely important to me. However, seeing the church become more and more 'open' about their history is concerning to me. Probably because when I was in the church, I was such a hardcore believer that when I was taught something, I forced myself to be ok with it no matter how messed up it felt. On the flip side, being open with your members is probably a good thing, as long as you acknowledge the wrongness of it.

Other stuff like garment changes, temple endowment changes, etc., that show up with zero notice or acknowledgment. Bigger stuff like racial history, polygamy, etc.

Even faithful members have a hard time when the Church changes, for different reasons. Some members don't even care about the history, because they believe the church is a 'living organism' that adapts with the times...
