HSA HELP PLEASE

Health Insurance HSA Help

I’m just going to bullet point all this to help organize my thoughts and facts but please help!!

• household is my husband, me, stepdaughter (11) and our son (2)
• we have 50/50 custody of stepdaughter
• we claim her every other year on taxes
• MOTHER ACCIDENTALLY claimed 2 years in a row (paid us the cash back for her accident), and this upcoming year is her year so it will look like she claimed her 3 years in a row
• we have to switch to a new insurance which is also an HSA plan
• we cover stepdaughter on insurance
• I am unsure who makes more between my husband and her and don’t want to open that can of worms, there is no child support involved

Are we eligible to use our HSA money on stepdaughters medical bills???? I can not understand these rules

Do they ever come to their senses?

Do the stepkids, specifically daughters ever come back around, come to their senses? When?

We are in the trenches right now with a 12 year. Lying about her home life to her boyfriend who supposedly has a really hard home life, trying to relate to him. Lying is a big issue that is causing her constant anxiety. She thinks our structure, routine, schedules within our home is abuse, she feels she should be able to have her phone all night long which we don’t allow. Her mom has guys in and out and has been the “friend” parent but is finding out that is not working because she is now taking taking taking more and more control over her mom, she favors her moms house because of the lack of rules. Every time she asks for something outrageous at our house like a sleepover with her boyfriend she says “I don’t want you to be mad at me, you’re mad at me if you’re telling me no.” My husband is very hurt by this all and I’m trying to have hope one day she’ll appreciate things. Do they come back one day as adults and ever appreciate the structure?
