How to get Felv cat to eat
So some history. I have a Felv cat that I have had since May. He was a TNR outdoor cat that just showed up one day. He just got all his teeth out and blood work done about a month ago. Stopped eating after surgery but baby food worked.
About 4 days ago he slowly stopped eating. Baby food worked for a day and then nothing. Took him to the vet 2 days ago and he got fluids/ b12/ antibiotics/ anti nausea. He’s had an appetite stimulant. He is still peeing and I’ve tried new and old foods. He is a little snotty but he has always been. I’ve tried humidifier and sitting in the bathroom with a hot shower and nothing. I am so at a loss and wish he could just tell me why he will not eat.
Any thoughts? Options?
Update. I too him in Friday for a full cbc/x Ray/ ultrasound. He’s anemic. Which I thought as much after researching and They found enlarged lypmhnodes and a mass near his pancreas. We did pain meds and steroids and Saturday he was eating like a champ and started following me around again. By Sunday afternoon he’s still eating but more subdued. He goes in for a recheck tomorrow. Thank you all for the thoughts. I’m hoping he can maybe get through the anemia and be comfortable until it’s time.
