Electronic Architecture - Solarstone

Always keep going back to this album - it's an all time favourite I think. Can anyone recommend any albums that are similar style but more recent please? Non vocal or non cheesy vocals. Not proggy. Just pure decent... Well.. electronic architecture.

First person narrative - Smoking Gun

Does the perspective a song is sung in affect the listeners internal perception of the characters and story?

I’m aware that with this new song Smoking Gun. Ren and Webby are telling the fictional story through a first person narrative (I, we) and using their own names instead of fully creating a character like Vincent in the tales, or like Violet (third person narrative). Most of Ren’s songs are first person but with true life experiences.

Somehow Ren is the actual villain here (although fictional). Does it hit internally in a different way than if the character was called Bob?

It’s the same in Caskets – which I can’t listen to often because it is first person narrative – perhaps I take everything too literally, but it would have to be sung by someone I’d lost to mean more to me than it does. Instead listening creates an almost future possibility that I don’t like the idea of at all, so the way the words process internally for me alters due to the perspective they are sung in.

Is this happening for other humans here? Do we relate differently depending on this detail? Does it trigger differently.

Hypothetical question that came up after watching the new Neurodivergent video (which is another amazing one and a fun video but complex thought provoking lyrics as normal)!

These things always get me thinking how do we change “Current situation for supporting young neurodivergent people with their mental health is SHIT. How do we make it better? How do we create new systems?”

So – if someone put £250k into your bank account – how would you spend it in your region?

The (deeper) need -
Neurodivergent young people locally are facing:
- High levels of anxiety, emotional distress and sensory overwhelm
- self harming behaviours or thoughts of ending their life,
- social isolation and exclusion from education
- limited access to mental health and neurodiversity- aware services, medication research or treatments

You have 2 years to create projects and spend the money… I don’t need or want budget breakdowns. But I’m interested in how you would change/create new systems to those that haven't worked so well with the above?

I will put my answer in a separate post at a later date…
