Hi everyone, Skyler here. Thank you all for the support on my last post: the site got a lot of good comments and many of you sent suggestions, and a good number of them are already live. The one I'm most looking forward to this issue is the Mechanical Ring IV Shadow Cloak. It is so narrow and thin that nothing about it says toy; on the hand it reads as a normal ring. I've been after a ring that looks right and takes a glow insert, and this one looks great and comes in plenty of materials. The other is the Wavebreaker. I first saw it at EDC show in September and have since bought it in stainless steel and brass. The play is genuinely new and the feel is unlike anything else: strong vibration feedback, and the whole design follows the tetrapod idea, so the look and the structure are one piece. On a desk it holds up as an object in its own right.

Hi. I'm Skyler and I've been posted Chinese release round up(EDC radar newsletter) in this subreddit for two months. Whenever a roundup went up, the top question was where to buy. People wanted one place to see all the pieces and the best price, so I built edcradar.com. After a stretch of testing with some of you, it's ready for everyone.

What it does, starting with the main thing:

1. The catalogue. 3,403 metal fidgets from makers in China and the West, each with its versions and materials. It's the most complete catalogue of metal fidgets we know of, a small encyclopedia of the hobby.
2. Best price. We track prices and stock at 21 shops and show the best price for each piece, so you don't have to go shop by shop.
3. Collections.Pages for newcomers and for anyone going deep on one kind: quiet pieces, desk toys, fidget rings, community picks for beginners, Grail tier and others.
4. New releases. The newsletter now lives on the site, and each piece in it links to its page, with the shops that carry it. A release calendar keeps upcoming launches in view, and email alerts tell you when a saved piece drops in price, comes back in stock or gets a new version, or when a maker you follow releases something new.
5. The rest. A free account to save pieces and follow makers; 464 maker pages, the bigger makers with a short intro; recent resale prices for about 700 pieces; a buy box that keeps materials and versions apart; currency conversion; dark mode; a report button for anything wrong; and a Discord community.

To mark the opening there's a giveaway, the first of several we plan to run. The prize is a WM EDC Voice S from my own collection, pre-owned and near new; it sold new for about US$140. The rules are on the site.

Got my hands on the WM EDC Voice S and it has been on my desk all week.

First, it is just a very good slider on its own. The plates are imported PEI in a clean white that looks soft and almost warm, not the usual cold plastic white.

The part I like most: it has three tracks and you can swap between them fast. One is dense and buzzy, a fine ripple under your thumb. One has a high and low tone. One is stepped, with clear stops.

For someone who fidgets at work, that matters. When the room is quiet I go to the quiet track. When I get bored of it, I switch and it feels like a different piece.

Hi everyone. I'm Skyler, and I've been into premium fidgets for about three months. I'm hooked. Yes, I know, we're all just adults who refused to put our toys down.

The thing that bugged me as a beginner: finding the right piece is hard. Different makers, different shops, different names for the same thing. I'd end up on four or five sites just to work out what a fidget is, which version I wanted and who actually had it in stock at a sane price. The digging is part of the fun, but I wanted one place that pulls it together.

So I built edcradar.com. It's a database of 4,900+ metal fidgets from 564 makers: form, materials, versions, prices and stock across 20 shops, and a price chart so you can see where a piece has been. It also tracks makers in China directly, so you see new releases when they drop over there, often before they show up in overseas shops (some never do: 594 pieces on the site are China only), and you can compare the source price with the shops that carry it. Right now the site is free, sells nothing and has no affiliate links; if any of that changes, you'll hear it here first. One more thing you should know: I'm also preparing a fidget brand of my own. The database stays independent of it.

The goal is simple: help this community find their next fidget with less digging. It's still a work in progress, which is why I'm looking for 20 to 30 people to test it with me.

Who I'm looking for

• Beginners and long-time collectors alike. If you own a handful of metal fidgets, you qualify.
• People who will tell me plainly what's wrong. With thousands of products in the catalogue, some names, images and prices are bound to be off, and I'd rather hear it from you than find out later.
• People with opinions: what's missing, what's confusing, what feature would make you come back.

Hi everyone, Issue 6 is here. I went through all the announcements from mid-September and picked the 20 drops I'm most excited about.

As I was writing this, YEDC put out their Tyrant announcement. It's another open-shell spinner, quite like GoBiggeR's Zaodong 2 but pricier. Eighteen plates that spring open and snap back on magnets is a cool trick, though it has no tuning fork, which is where the Zaodong 2 still wins for me. The other one I keep coming back to is Make Money: a push slider and a spinner in one body, a design I haven't seen before.

so excited to finally get the Wavebreaker from Flowstate Studio today. They are a new studio and this is their second product.

I actually had hands on it at the Guangzhou EDC show before. was already impressed by the structure and the feedback there. they were very popular and sold out in about two hours, so i had to wait until now.

This is my second time holding it, but the haptic feedback still surprised me. closest thing i can compare it to is a PS5 or switch controller. that fine buzzy tingle that goes into your fingertips. i never got this from any other fidget toy.

I also love the concept of the toy! The designer got the idea from a walk on a Sydney beach.Wavebreakers are the concrete blocks that break the waves before they hit the shore. same idea for anxiety. maybe it sounds like marketing, but i do feel calmer when i play with it.

Plus, it is very quiet. i played it the whole afternoon in the office and nobody noticed. also nobody can tell it is a toy, it just looks like some decos on the desk.

Always exciting to see a new brand come out with a completely new structure, not just another material version of something existing. Price is 299 RMB for steel. And I have asked the maker and they said they will be released on Geeone later on(I will keep an update on it).

Hi guys! Issue 4 is here. Sorry I skipped August, work was crazy. Back on track now.

This time I collected about 60 announcements, and picked 20 that I think you guys would actually care about. Prices are Chinese list price in RMB, USD is my rough conversion, western shops usually add 30 to 100 percent on top.

My favorite this issue is the Akira from Pangolin. Not because of the pusher, because of the dock: you press it and it launches the pusher out. They will be available on Geeone very soon.

Thank you all for following EDC Radar. After the last post, many of you asked me to keep bringing the Chinese drops to this subreddit, so here we are with issue 2. This time I made a trailer video instead of the image gallery. Tell me which one you prefer and I will stick with that. I also built a website with a better layout for this kind of content. Not sure if links are allowed here, so I will leave it in a comment below. Mods, if that is a problem just say so and I will take it down.

The one that already happened: Groove Ultra "Gambit" by MOT EDC. 1,399 RMB (~$194), 599 units per colorway, dropped July 9 and sold out on the spot. Geeone listed it the same day at $429, a 120 percent markup, as a pre-order that ships October 15, and the oil-slick zirc is already gone there too.

From Chiniese community's feedback the biggest upgrade is one screw runs everything. Twist the rear plate off with your thumb and that screw sets the damping for both the push and the spin.

The rest, roughly in order of how hard they made me look twice:

TOFU (NAYICI, sold in the west as MUYI), 269 to 339 RMB / $37 to $47, 99 units, July 12. A pusher that comes in two flavors: "fried tofu" (18 g) and "frozen tofu" (43 g). Two play modes in one body, run it with buckyballs or swap in a 4 mm magnet for a harder snap. The marketing leans on silent gliding, POM liner with a teflon slider. Same day the brand also drops Ti-purple editions of the ARTILLERY and SHAKE, so it is a busy weekend over there.

Millennium Collector series (PANGOLIN), 1,699 / 1,799 / 3,599 RMB, that top one is a ~$500 "Cathedral" pusher. Global runs of 80, 80 and 40. The part that matters here: for once the maker printed an explicit overseas allocation, 20 + 20 + 10 units reserved for international buyers. That is the first time I have seen a CN maker put the export quota in the announcement itself.

Decision Rat, upgraded (HAOTZ), 399 RMB / ~$55, 199 units, July 10. The decision-maker coin: flick it and a steel ball races the hollow track, stops on a circle or a cross. Yes or no, decided by magnets. Gunmetal matte finish this time, glow ball included. The earlier version sells at Geeone as the Decision Rat Spinner.

Sushi omakase blind box (Chenyu EDC), 399 RMB / ~$55, 99 sets. One price, random dish, that is the whole bit. Show release first, online mid-August. Between this and the tofu, the CN scene is apparently hungry this cycle.

CRITICAL flex pusher (JUZHEDC), 239 to 249 RMB / ~$34, in stock now, and NXEDC already lists the line, so this one you can actually get. Stainless base, no visible screws, and a magnet system that takes both 7 mm and 8 mm balls without swapping parts.

Golden Toad and Koi (Buji EDC), 828 RMB / ~$115, 69 units. Third in their fortune series: titanium body with copper inlay, PEEK track, a toad and a koi for money luck. The ornate end of the spectrum, and they know it.

Sabertooth II (G-ing Studio), 788 to 2,588 RMB / $109 to $359 depending on metal, copper up to tungsten, July 18. Owners of the first run get priority registration, which tells you how the first run went.

Coco Candy (KAIS), price TBA. Steel and Ti versions with a drumbeat-style track. KAIS is the Lucky Ballad maker, so worth a look on that alone.

Seasoning Stick, zirc edition (GD EDC), price TBA, late July. The Seasoning Stick you may know from MightyEDC, now in zirc with a new dense track. Mechanical and magnetic feedback in one body, and you can reconfigure it bare-handed, no tools.

EDC tactical pouch (ROGUE x LIIGEAR), 128 RMB / ~$18, 100 units, July 14. A carry pouch designed specifically for metal fidgets. Not a toy, but if your sliders ride loose in a sling bag, this is the cheapest fix in this list.

Zero Two-Leaf Mini (Modou), price TBA, mid-July. The ZERO series two-leaf top shrunk to palm size, in steel, zirc and damascus.

On buying, same story as last issue: mostly WeChat group signup chains, some Taobao. CRITICAL is on NXEDC now, several others will surface at the usual western shops within days. Many never will.

So I've always felt there is a big gap between the fidget community here and the Chinese fidget brands/makers. Most launches are announced only on WeChat (Chinese social media), and they rarely reach the English side of the internet. This weekly report is my attempt to fix that and I will summarize all the new launches, so you see them at the same time as players in China do. The price listed are in RMB which may vary on what you buy on distributors. This is the first one, and if you have any suggestions, feel free to comment below.

The one everyone over there is waiting for: Zaodong 2(Pillbug) by GoBiggeR . Pillbug came out in July 2021 and became one of the defining armor tops of the scene. Five years later the sequel lands this month. The maker ran a pre-interest signup in June and 7,066 people put their names down. That's for a top expected to cost north of 2,000 RMB, call it $280 and up. Releases sometime in July.

The rest, roughly in order of how hard they made me look twice:

Breaker Howitzer, official white edition (EDCELL), 1,238 RMB / ~$172, dropped June 30. Technically a material refresh, but the material is the news: white micro-arc oxidized aluminum + stainless, which cuts the price from the 5,000 RMB (~$700) Ti and zirc versions down to about a quarter. Distributors also got a blue and a red version. One honest note: a lot of CN pre-order buyers already have theirs, and early reports say the QC is a bit off. Because of the design, screws tend to loosen, and the area under the bullet chamber scratches easily. Still, it keeps every play feature of the full-price Breaker, and at this price most people over there consider it worth it.

Qingniao "Jing" mini armor top (Hope Studio), 988 RMB / ~$137. Seventy-something grams, switches between a three-blade half-open and a six-blade full-open form, and the armor gives two distinct clicks when it closes. Stainless, sandblasted stone-wash two-tone. 130 total: 90 standard, 40 VIP. July 2.

Hada 3.0 (Chimago), 399 to 799 RMB / $55 to $110. Fully magnetic push slider, single rail, twin springs, and the rails are cross-compatible with the Hada 1.0 body so you can mix generations. Four material combos. Only the Ti-body version is limited (500 units), the rest stay in production, which is not the usual play over there.

Moshan silent slider (Moshan EDC), 99 to 168 RMB / $14 to $23. A push slider built specifically for offices: PEI or steel over POM bearing balls, N52 magnets, three spring configurations from snappy to dead quiet, and a graffiti skull on the chin with the word SOUND crossed out. Worth noting that "quiet" is turning into its own product category in the CN scene, not just a footnote in the specs.

ACEdc emoji pendants, from 19.8 RMB / ~$3 for a necklace pendant up to 168 RMB blind boxes. Little mechanism-plus-buckyball faces you can wear. Releases on July 3.

Xuanjia PEI pusher (NEW EDC), 980 RMB / ~$136, 99 made. MetaEDC lists the earlier version as the Xuan Jia slider, so the name may ring a bell. Translucent PEI shell over a copper core, brass rails, and a denser track with two extra segments.

Sanyehun Plus (Yan EDC), price TBA, early July. Trefoil top, thicker and heavier than the original, with six mirror-polished arcs that catch the color of the lock through the blades. Reworked hollow lock tuned for sound. Steel, zirc, and "ice crystal" Ti finishes.

Langlanghua Pro (Ryan EDC), 599 RMB / ~$83. This is the Eternal Flower (MetaEDC's name for it) gone full metal: chime coin, ratchet coin, oversized lock and linkage column in one bundle.

Finally got the WM EDC 20th in hand. Wanted to share some thoughts since

these have not exactly been easy to find lately.

The action is the main story. Multi-stage detents through the push with

alternating tones, low-high-low-high all the way across the stroke. Slow

push really lets you hear the cadence, faster push blurs into one

continuous note. Tuning your speed becomes half the fun. Detents snap

clean at every step.

Carry profile surprised me more than the sound honestly. Thin, light,

sits flat in the pocket. Forgot it was there twice today. In hand the

proportions just land right, fills the palm without bulk.

Going into the daily rotation immediately. Curious how the action holds up after a few months of carry.
