Skylight's Month view now opens on the current week, not day 1 of the month. So instead of scrolling past days you've already lived through, you'll always see what's coming up next: up to 6 weeks of your family's schedule at a glance.

It's on by default, but easy to turn off anytime in Settings > Calendar if you'd rather stick with the classic view.

Rolling out now to all Skylight tablets — you'll see it as your device updates throughout this week!

1. Buddy will be restocked on our site on August 3rd. This is US-only for now, though we have heard your requests to take Buddy international.
2. In response to the community’s feedback, we are excited to announce that Calendar Plus subscribers get Buddy Plus for free. This will always be the case from now on, not just for a limited time. So if you have Calendar Plus and buy a Buddy, you don’t need another subscription to access Timers, Nudges, or Rewards. 🎉

Never forget a task again! Never nag family members about their tasks again!

Add a due time to tasks and you'll receive a mobile push notification and pop up reminder on the Skylight Calendar at the due time. 🙌

Here's how:

1. Open the Skylight app and go to Settings → Notifications
   1. Toggle on Task Due Reminders and choose which family members' tasks you want to be notified about
2. On the Skylight Calendar, go to Settings → Reminders → Toggle on ‘When Due’
3. That's it — add a due time to any task and you'll get a reminder when it's due! 🔔

Your whole family will get a nudge when it's time to get things done. 💪

This feature is available for All Skylight users (Free and Plus) on Android 26.14+ and Mobile 2.12+

Set rewards in the app, and your kid taps their star count on Buddy to see what they’re working toward. Redeem a reward or undo a redemption anytime, right from the app.

This update will reach your devices over the next 24 hours. So if it’s not there yet, just hang tight.

Now you can see EVERY task in your household in one place — no more scrolling through days to find what needs to get done.

Here's how to find it:

1️⃣ Open the Skylight app
2️⃣ Tap Tasks
3️⃣ Tap the "Day" orb and switch to "All"

That's it! Every chore, routine, and to-do — all in one scroll.

To view all tasks for all profiles, just deselect the profile.

This is on the latest version, so update your app in the app store if you don't see it.

We've made it easier than ever to manage your family's lists on the Skylight Calendar device:

✅ Reorder your lists — just long-press and drag! (note: this won't change the order on mobile)
➕ New floating + button to add a list in a tap
⋯ Three-dot menu on every list for quick access to Add Item, Add Section, Edit, and Clear Completed
🗂️ Drag and drop items within or between sections
🎨 Cleaner design — better spacing, updated fonts, and tidier sections

To try it out: tap the Lists icon on your device → look for the ⋯ menu or the blue + button! → try dragging and dropping a list or list items.

18 months ago, we came to our community with a rough idea and a question: would you want a Skylight device that lived in your kid's room and helped them with their morning and bedtime routines?

The response was immediate. Parents told us about all the devices already living in their kid's bedroom -- the night light, the sound machine, the alarm clock. And about how their kid's bedroom is where the mornings and bedtimes actually happen, but all the routine tools were in another room. Parents of kids with ADHD said this would change their mornings.

• 🔄 Convert any Profile into a Label (or Label into a Profile) without losing your events
• 🏷️ Labels are now their own dedicated section — for life's categories and themes
• ✨ Add emoji to your Labels from a curated library to make them easy to spot
• 🔀 Merge Labels with Labels to clean up duplicates or old Profiles (after you've converted the profile to a label)

Tip: Convert unwanted Profiles to Labels, then, add a new "Archive" label and merge anything you're not using into it to tidy up!

You may have noticed things look a little different when you go to add or edit a task - that's intentional! 😊 We've been working on a cleaner, simpler Add Task screen on both the app and your Skylight device.

Here's what's new:
📱 On the app:

• Chores, Routines, and Task Box are now together in one row at the top
• The emoji field is next to the Title field
• The Assign field can now collapse, so you only see what you need!
