This is the moment that almost made me say "screw it!" Even with all of the previous heartbreaking twists in the show, this one felt the most unnecessary. I've never been more disrespected! Like how dare you??
Does anyone else feel so strongly about this? Because it still makes me mad just thinking about it.
It was phenomenal. Anyone think Conan was going to pop in? Kinda disappointed he didn't show. I thought of him several times while watching, but none more so than when strike force five echoed Conan's Oscars joke with the "you'll add a cool edit of us disappearing later, right?"
It was great. I'm sad.
Edit to clarify now that I've slept, I was kinda disappointed he wasn't there because I love seeing Conan show up anywhere and I thought he would've really enjoyed some of bits being done. It would've been fun. NOT like "wow I'm so disappointed in Conan for not showing up for Colbert." I'm aware he was on his show recently as a guest and didn't mean it that way.
