So I'm writing a Spelljammer campaign loosely inspired by the film "Aliens". Basically, a mining town built atop a meteor uncovers what is believed to be rare, valuable gems from deep within the mines. I'm planning on having the "gems" actually be eggs for a monster that serves as the major threat of the campaign, but I'm struggling with coming up with a monster (or monsters) that would fit the role. Any advice on what monster(s) to use would be greatly appreciated!
