~93 hours of shiny hunting over 5 months. somewhere along the way, i graduated, moved to a different country, and started working. made me realize how much i appreciate pokemon being a constant through all the changes.

I just did my first full-odds shiny hunt!
Her name is Comet, I'm using her as my starter for a shiny only playthrough of US/UM.
This shiny matters a lot to me as I never believed in myself to do a full-odds hunt, even in the 3d games. This hunt took me a year, and in that year, I did a lot of things I never thought I could do, like moving out from my parents house and buying my first car.
I didn't think I could do any of it, and this Ledyba kinda tied it up for me to feel like I finally did all the things I never thought I could do.
Also her stats suck but I love her
I just started resetting on FRLG for my ribbon master yesterday, and I caught her today with only 652 resets! I’m so excited!!
I was ev training and a shiny zangoose showed up. You'll never guess what happened... 🫠

I managed to complete my SOS chain hunt for a shiny Cottonee in my Ultra Sun game right before Nintendo announced the dreaded Pokemon Bank support closure date 😭🥲
I know it’s probably not a big deal but I just thought it was funny.. if not sad 🌞😔 (his name is Popkernel..)

Found this little fella while watching x-men (2000), amazing shiny, really love it. Took me 20139 fishing attempts as well as some of my safari week time. I'm slowly progressing in my shiny rainbow bingo, its been one year since I've started shiny hunting, the next should be groudon so I can complete a column.
How? Just how? 446 encounters? Is my shiny charm just supercharged? (Also apologies for the black spots, my screen is damaged)

My second ever SOS hunt did not treat me very nice, the odds are 1/273 but it was genuinely approaching random encounter odds. I found my first shiny rattata at a chain of 480 at level 2 and I have exterminated so many level 2-3 rats since then that it is now level 17.
Using a probability calculator, ~98.777% of hunts would have been completed by this point, so yes this is definitely not the most unlucky SOS hunt ever, but it's certainly not very lucky
I am very happy to have this lil guy though, and I'm not complaining, I honestly find it funny at this point

Like many other on this sub right now, I’m also hunting for Type: Null and Poipole on my copies of USUM. Needed to start a fresh save since both were claimed in my US copy, but after 21 hours of story gameplay I was ready to lock in for a grind to get this guy! So imagine my surprise when it shined after 350!!!
Goal is to get two of each, and then a Spinda if I have time to spare, so I know that Type Null is gonna put me through the paces and I’m really looking forward to the hunt.
Currently trying to fill my boxes to Quick Wicke for TN.
