PSA: People telling you not to buy a SM b/c you can build one cheaper are just sad they are still on the waitlist 🤣
Not a single person that has actually received their steam machine is upset with the purchase.
It seems that the steam machine is actually over performing and is exceeding the expectations of everyone that got it.
So don’t listen to the haters and get that Steam Machine.
Enjoy 🤙🏼
I’m getting good performance, am I doing something wrong?
I’m gaming only in 4k and getting above 60 fps all the time. For example I’m doing the outlast trials in 4k high settings at 80fps. This thing is a beast. Way better than any console performance, worth the upgrade for sure.
I was wrong…
I listened to the haters and bought into what they were saying.
They were counting you out, saying you weren’t powerful enough, your price to performance ratio is garbage, just buy a fractal terra case and build your own… I was sure this thing would be DOA. But, I took the leap, a leap of faith you could say.
Hell I knew I could resell it if I really hated it… but damn. This thing fucks. It’s proved me wrong in every way and I regret having doubt in the little guy… the little machine that could is what he goes by now.
There is nothing like the freedom of Linux PC gaming right on your couch in this absolute debauchery of a world we have now between Sony and Microslop and the continued supremacy of AI.
So to those in the reservation queue, you can breathe a sigh of relief your time will come and it will be glorious.
And to those on the waitlist, be patient and be ready. When your time comes, and it will, you must be fully present and accept the Gift of Gabe.
And to all those facing THE DEVIL AT YOUR DOOR disguised as Sony and Microsoft, with no hope or direction guiding you to a brighter future through these extremely dark days in gaming. I say to you, we will continue to fight for our unalienable rights on the front lines with Valve to protect all those who don’t have a voice of their own, we have the watch.
In closing, RIP to the brothers and sisters who couldn’t see this day for themselves. We have you in our prayers.
The land before AI…
Man… what things could have been like.
HOT TAKE: Valve should partner with Microcenter to be the sole seller and distributor of the upcoming Steam Machine.
This ensures only die hard PC/steam enthusiasts have access to the hardware by limiting scalpers through brick and mortar sales at limited locations.
4k OLED 240hz at 27” or 32” vs 1440p OLED at 540hz for an RTX5080 build?
Choosing between three monitors here possibly. I have an RTX 5080 Ryzen 7 9850X3D currently paired with a Samsung 4k 144hz IPS. I play a good mix of story driven modes and competitive FPS. I also use my PC for regular light productivity work.
Wondering if the higher FPS would outweigh the 4k enough to make it worth it or if the higher resolution on like a 32” 4k would be well worth the immersiveness over high frame rates.
Wondering what you all think from your experience.
Added to the wishlist ✅👍🏼
Let’s go!!! So hyped for this game and it’s getting even closer.
Hey all, just got this new gaming PC, Micro Center is an absolute godsend.
I game in 4K and plan to get into some minor LLM/AI.
I have updated BIOS with Powerspecs proprietary BIOS version on the website as well as all the drivers through the computers “check for updates” page as well as through NVIDIA for the GPU and AMD for the CPU.
To start, what software are you downloading to monitor cpu temps and all that data? Any better way to keep up to date on drivers?
If anybody has any experience with Asrock in regard to setting the fan speeds through BIOS that would be great right now I have them set to standard and didn’t know if I should tweak them or really how to program them based on temps.
Finally, what’s the best way to optimize performance?
Should I start out with Native resolution and then gradually add on DLSS upscaling and/or frame gen after that? What are your methods you go through when setting up all your games?
Lastly, if anybody has insight on the Powerspec prebuilts and know of any weak points or components that should be an immediate upgrade (such as the CPU AIO cooler) I would like your insight on that as well.
So far pc has been a blast and performs amazing. Just trying to stay ahead of the learning curve. Thanks!
