Going to crane school

My job is going to send me to a month long crane school(ATS) in August to become the new crane operator at my work as the current one is retiring soon. I work for the United States coast guard and we only have one type of crane (TLL I think it is). And I was wondering if there’s anything I should be preparing for before I head to school or if I should expect anything. My foreman told me I can hop in the crane and get some practice but I’m scared I could learn some bad habits. Any advice would be amazing, thanks.

Housing market northbend

Hello, I’m thinking about buying in north bend and was wondering how the market is looking that far east. Are homes pretty stable or expected to drop? My budget isn’t crazy it’s around 850k but just curious what I should be expecting.

how does TDY work without GTCC?

I’m a civilian about to get sent to school for a month for my job and I feel like I’m just super confused how per diem works. They authorized 138$ a day for hotel and 60$ for meals and then the car rental is over 1.5k for the month. I’d prefer to use my own card to get rewards if possible but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to use my own. Can anyone help me understand?

I’m interested in buying a home in north bend or issaquah. Since I’m not super tech savvy it’s really hard for me to see if it’s a sellers market or buyers market or if it’s even a good time to buy. I personally am looking to buy around late September/early October time frame. Also is north bend a good area? Me and my wife moved here about a year ago and are not too familiar with the area.

Hello, I work for United States coast guard , and I’ve been tasked with getting my mobile crane cert. our current crane operator is retiring next year and they want me to fill in those shoes and take his job. I’ve called west coast training and a couple others but they want me to take ALL their classes for 15k. Which isn’t a terrible thing but I only need my telescopic boom crane license. Is there any place on the west coast that only allows me to do one license? I know every one says join a union but that’s not really an option as I’m working for the government as permanent personal.
