Multi hardwire connections with eero 7 router.

My wife recently transitioned to working from home, and her company mandates a wired connection. I’m also wired into the router, and I need it for work (and gaming🫣). The issue is that there’s only one Ethernet port and I’d prefer not to slow down my speeds. Could I use a network switch or splitter to extend the available ports? I do have another router with multiple ports, but I’ve already invested in Eero extenders and the like.

UPDATED: I got home and she just didn’t understand how to set up and access her work network. No hardwire necessary.

So I have this idea for a city on a river, and I want to keep it vaguely realistic and grounded. The city is split by the river, and in the center is an island that houses the main keep, all of which is fine. What I’m having trouble with is this: I want the central island keep to split the river, with the water turning into a waterfall just past it, almost like the bow of a ship breaking through waves or think Minas Tirith adjacent, but with a waterfall. I’m struggling to come up with a map that makes sense geographically, as well as a believable reason for the city to exist in the first place other than this city is here. Any help would be appreciated.
