advice on surgery & potential cancer treatment?
hey everyone! this is my baby girl ava! i came into her life a year & half ago when i met my partner! she had 8 puppies in late 2024 by c section before i was around, and sadly two days ago, almost two years after her pregnancy, we discovered a hard mass on her incision site. obviously we rushed her to the urgent vet, and after inspection we have been told it could be two things. 1. a hernia/strong inflammation that developed on her incision area that never fully healed or 2. cancer. regardless, she needs asap surgery (i asked for spay to be added to the service as well just as a preventative measure) and we have booked her surgery/spay twofer on 7/21. i am absolutely shattered and horrified, but mostly unsure of what to prepare for her recovery or potential cancer treatment. please give me tips on things to do or to purchase to aid the process. while we were at the vet she was also prescribed trazadone for her separation anxiety issues (also to make sure she doesn’t harm her tummy between now & her surgery). i purchased a furbo 360 camera so we can see how she reacts to trazadone while i leave for work, and how it could potentially function during her crate rest after surgery. any tips on surgery recovery, potential cancer treatment, and frenchie separation anxiety would be highly appreciated!
