TBR list.

Have you ever looked at your TBR and suddenly hated to look at it and think about reading those books?

My TBR is mostly horror with three sci-fi sprinkled in. I'm currently hating reading horror and just want to wipe out my TBR and fill it with sci-fi.

But I've got horror books in my list that I've wanted to read for ages. I'm getting a little anxiety about scrapping my entire TBR list and starting fresh.

On the other hand, I'm excited to read some sci-fi.

Anyone else feel like this? What did you do?

Are there any movies you think would have been better as books?

Are there any movies you think would have been better as books, that aren't?

I'll go first--Weapons.

I think the story was too big for the time-limitations of a movie. And there were too many characters who are, unfortunately, useless to the overall arc.

I think a book could really fill out that story, bring the whole town into it, kinda like Needful Things by Stephen King.

I think the scope of Weapons, while I enjoyed it, suffered from trying to cram that whole story into 2 hours.

In a book, you could really bring in all the kids who were important to the story and played zero part. You could see their home and personal lives and really fill out that, "what the hell is going on?" vibe the movie was really going for.

Maybe Stephen King should write a book adaptation of the movie and give us another thousand-page epic.

Stephen King's sentences.

Does anybody else love King's long sentences? To me, they don't read long-winded, like most other authors who use long sentences. King has this way with words that just sits perfectly and rolls off the tongue so easily. Sometimes I don't even realise the sentence runs on.

I've been trying to understand, for some time now, why I can't read many other authors and I think maybe the sentence structure is possibly one of these reasons. There are a lot of reasons, but the sentence structure seems strangely more important.
