Cold feet

Buying a house in Michigan and close tomorrow. We did a walkthrough today and one of the things they agreed to fix was not quite fixed right, so our agent asked for a small credit, still waiting to hear back. Other homes in the neighborhood are not selling now for the same price we paid. The other houses are now asking about 5k less than we paid. They are slightly bigger but not as updated though and sitting. Ours has a kitchen and 2 bathrooms that were redone in last 10 years. The sellers have been difficult and with the way the housing market is I’m considering backing out. Not sure if it’s possible or not with the small issue but just not sure on the whole thing now.

It right now a bad time to buy a home?

We have been burned before by a house 3 years ago that the inspection missed major mold issues that cost us 100k in a year unplanned. We hated the house after and sold and didn’t loose much. Now looking at another home and are under contract. Having second thoughts now that the market seemed to slow as soon as we got an offer in. We are in lower Michigan, prices are dropping slightly on some but many houses are selling still for asking or over in last few months. Is it reasonable to see a market crash soon and we will be holding the bag? Or just keep moving and not worry too much?

Moving to Windsor from Detroit options

Hello, my wife is a dual citizen, but she’s never lived in Canada. Her mother lives in Montreal and we are starting to think for our young family it’s better off to being in Canada. Curious on the process and difficulty of moving there with a spouse who is a dual citizen but had never officially lived there? Also, I am the primary breadwinner and my job is in the Detroit area. I’m in healthcare in a position that doesn’t allow me to do the same job in Canada. So I’m also considering working in Detroit while living in Canada. It seems like I will be really hit with taxes, but I’m also in a good position financially and have been in saving and investing for years. It seems like I can keep my 401(k) and things like that but all of my after tax accounts, I can no longer purchase shares but can leave the monies in those accounts? Curious on options and opinions?

New to us home updates.

Very close to closing on this home. Looking for ideas on how to make the landscaping a little bit more fun and charming. Also, any suggestions on things to do to the exterior of the actual house. We live in Southeast Michigan if that helps regarding native plants or colorful options. Thank you.

Landscaping update

Looking to add more color and change things up a bit. We are in southeast Michigan and want to keep most of this but also add some nice plans or shrubs to get more color? Any suggestion on how to go about this?

First time camping in Ontario

Hi All, looking for some nice campsites that may also have access to rivers for some fly fishing. We are coming from Michigan, my wife is Canadian but has not done much camping. We would be crossing over near Port Huron or possibly up in Sue St Marie.
Thanks

Camping in Ontario

Live in Michigan have been camping up north for years. I was curious if anyone has suggestions on doing some camping in Ontario Canada? It seems like there’s quite a bit of wilderness within a couple hours of the ambassador Bridge and also Sault Ste. Marie. Any suggestions would be great.

Would be awesome if it also included good fly fishing areas.

What is a great middle of the road set up between a seven and eight weight for Michigan rivers primarily? Looking to do some bass fishing and fall trout and salmon runs with it.

Glacier National Park

I’ll be heading to Glacier in mid September, curious if I could get any suggestions on where I could wade and maybe get a chance at a few fish one morning. Also any suggestions on what works for people out there?
Thanks!

Hello, I wear around a size 11 in Nikes and 9.5 in blundstone. Any suggestions on sizing.

Also looking for style tips. Looking at these and the earth waxed color. I am almost always wearing jeans and casual wear. Are these too dressy for that vs my blundstones? Are they comfortable for everyday wear and walking around town? Does anyone had insight on the earth wax color?

Thanks
