Eligibility worker

Hello! I recently accepted a position as an Eligibility Worker with Orange County and had a few questions.
Are the standard hours typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or is there any flexibility in scheduling? Is there also any opportunity to work from home, either during or after training?

I’m also curious about salary progression. How do raises work for Eligibility Workers? Are step increases automatic after a certain period, or are they based on performance evaluations?

I’d appreciate any insight from those who have experience in the role. Thank you!

Eligibility technician

I recently got hired as an Eligibility Technician and was told there will be several months of training before I begin working independently.

For those who have gone through the training program, how strict are they about attendance? If you need to call out sick for a day, is that generally understood, or could it put your employment at risk?

I’d also love to hear about your overall experience with the job. What do you like most about it, and are there any challenges you wish you had known about before starting?
