Red service light
I need your opinion. I am currently doing a TET trip in Sweden and just before I reached my hotel in Gotenburg my service light went from orange to red.
There is some history here. The bike is almost new and from the start the engine light goes on after +/- 500km. I resetted it twice and both times it is a temperature sensor warning. The 2nd time I was already in Sweden, so I could not get it fixed immediately. Now it is on for the third time but I could not get it read out as there was no service location close. I decided it is probably the temp sensor again so decided to drive further and noticed no issues.
Today just before (2min) reaching my hotel it went to red, probably due to traffic and lights, so driving really slow and minor cooling. I think it is related to the sensor again. After letting the engine cool for 10m and turned ignition off/on the light is orange again.
Tomorrow I am going to catch the ferry home, but still need to drive 550 highway km home.
What should I do?
Drive home or get it fixed here, which is probably impossible die to part availability
I think the sensor is unrelated to the temp valve so the valve should work. So as long as I can drive normally the engine will cool enough and no problems are expected
