Tips for managing anxiety during sessions?

I just had my 10th session and even though I wasn’t feeling any anxiety leading up to my session, I got really panicked during it. I was feeling super paranoid and couldn’t relax with my eye mask on so the whole session just felt like a fight. Wondering what people do to reduce anxiety during sessions? I try to avoid negative social media and keep my thoughts/conversations positive and light before my session and sometimes I can remember to do breathing exercises during if I get stressed, but what else can I do? tysm

A little less depression but way more anxiety

I just had my 10th IV ketamine session on thursday, and it was a really rough one, similarly to the session before. My doctor upped the dose a bit because my tolerance increased, and i have felt a little less depressed all the time. However, my last two sessions felt like a fight, because I was so anxious. I was feeling it quite a lot so it was hard to move and talk, which made me feel super vulnerable and exposed. This made me feel super anxious that something bad might happen to me, like someone might come into the room. It’s not like i’m weary of the nurses, (they’re so supportive and kind) and I wasn’t feeling anxious before my appointment. Wondering if anyone else has felt like this or has any advice? Thanks

Looking for ways to recover after a session

So I started my IV ketamine journey a couple months ago, and I’ve had 10 sessions. I’ve seen the tiniest bit of progress, but the way I feel right after my sessions is making this pretty difficult. I feel super weak, tired, mentally and physically exhausted, and i can barely do anything the rest of the day. I usually take a long nap and try to eat a good meal and drink water but I usually just feel pretty bad until the next day. Does anyone have any other suggestions for things that help with that same day recovery? Thanks!

Completely out of motivation, ready to give up

I’ve been struggling with anhedonia for about 5yrs now. A couple months ago I started ketamine and nortriptyline but I feel just as depressed, frustrated, and suicidal as ever, maybe even more. My therapist keeps telling me that I have to change my behaviors/start going out and doing things because that’s the only chance I’ll have at getting better. I wish I wanted to do things. I wish I had the motivation to participate in my hobbies and go to the gym or just anything. Any tips for how to improve motivation?

Feeling even worse after induction period

For context, I started iv ketamine a couple weeks ago and didn’t feel any different during the weeks I was doing it twice a week. This week i’m switching to once a week and then every two weeks and so on. But right now I’m feeling a lot even more depressed and more irritable than before I started. I know it can take a while to start feeling noticeably better, but is feeling this much worse normal? Do you start to feel better during maintenance? advice appreciated

Wondering if I should increase my dose or not

Looking for some advice. I’m only on my third session of IV ketamine (for TRD) and things are going alright so far. I feel a ton of relief during session and luckily I haven’t dealt with a k-hole, but I feel exhausted and more depressed right after session until I sleep it off. Then I go back to baseline depression until the next session. After my last appointment, my doctor asked if I felt like increasing the dose (0.5) and I’m not sure. I would like to feel some increased motivation and less depression but I don’t wanna increase too soon without giving it a chance. Anyone have this experience/advice?

Starting Spravato soon, nervous about dissociation

for a bit of background, i’m diagnosed with PTSD, MDD and anxiety. after trying almost every medication prescribed, my psychiatrist recommended Spravato. I’ve had anhedonia for about 4 years so i’m open to it but I keep hearing about how intensely people dissociate during treatment and that scares me. Not being able to move/speak or not being in control my body is making me rethink treatment.

does anyone have any advice/support regarding dissociation or if you felt the same?
