The video game Warhammer 40.000 Inquisitor: Martyr included an Inquisitor who is a (former?) Tech-Adept. How realistic is this? Normally I would expect Inquisitors to be careful about ascending an individual with such conflicts of interest, but on the other hand there also seems to be no rule that would forbid it.

Are there any other examples of (former) Mechanicus initiates becoming Inquisitors or Interrogators?

IM has three ways to modify the difficulty of a Test

• Difficulty levels
• Advantage/Disadvantage
• SL modifications

The book does not present any hard rules when to use one versus another. So I ask you what are your rules of thumb?
